My name is Lester McDermott. After learning from some of the wrong decisions I made from the past, it was no surprise that I would have trouble finding the kind of job I wanted. However, I stayed persistent and optimistic. I would not let my history dictate the outcome of my future.

Because I was at a disadvantage with my troubled background, I decided that I had to find a way to stand out. I needed to find my edge. In doing so, I came to conclusion that I had to better myself; and by bettering myself it meant that I simply needed to be more qualified. Sure, the people competing for the jobs I wanted had the education, and some experience. And without a doubt if I had the chance, I would go back to school. But considering my situation at the time, having a job and having income was my main priority. I had to find away to overshadow my competition.

For a while, I felt I would never be able to match other applicants with degrees, since I did not have a college education. But all those fears disappeared when I decided to educate myself. Since my daily schedule at the time required me to get a job right away, I turned to distance learning to gain some skills that I assumed were necessary for a particular job. In my free time, I searched the web for numerous, educational methods and various teaching tools that would help and guide me to being more prepared for whatever position I was applying for.

Therefore, it is because of various self-help books and tutorial products, I now have a respectable job that allows me to display some of my newly obtained abilities. Through my research and from taking part in various distance learning programs, I have gained some valuable skills that made me the effective worker that I am today. From working two part time jobs (one at the mall and one at a restaurant), I have become a Reporter and a Photographer for a respectable online magazine, thanks to the various methods and products I explore in this website’s advice.
